I am from the United States and I would like to relocate to Paraguay. I have read some guide books stating that I would need to go to the nearest Paraguayan consulate in order to get my documents ready before I travel. It is a long way just to get some stamps, is it really necessary?

Since August 30, 2014, Paraguay had become a signatory to the Hague Convention. You will need to get the Apostille through the same office in which you obtain your documents. The process may be different depending on your local office’s procedure.
